Mainline Hot Wheels are cheap and fun to hunt, but many adult collectors move toward premium lines with more detail. Here's what each major line offers, so you can decide where to focus. We don't list prices because they change by release and retailer.
What "premium" means
Premium Hot Wheels generally have a metal body and metal base, Real Riders rubber tires and more detailed paint and graphics than mainline cars. They usually cost more and are sold in smaller quantities.
Car Culture
Themed sets of premium cars, often built around a car culture or region, such as Japanese cars, racing or modern classics. It's a great place to start if you like real-world cars and want a set you can complete. Shop: Car Culture on Amazon · Car Culture on eBay
Boulevard
Premium single cars sold at retail, mixing classics, muscle and imports. Because each release is a single car, it's easy to collect only the castings you like. Shop: Boulevard on eBay
Team Transport
A premium car paired with a matching hauler truck, one of the best display pieces in the premium range. Shop: Team Transport on Amazon · Team Transport on eBay
Fast & Furious and Pop Culture
Licensed premium lines based on films and brands. Good if you collect by theme rather than by car type. Shop: Fast & Furious premium on eBay
Elite 64
A newer collector series of highly detailed 1:64 cars sold through Mattel Creations, released on scheduled sale dates. These are aimed squarely at adult collectors. Shop: Elite 64 on eBay
Red Line Club (RLC)
Mattel's membership club, offered through Mattel Creations, gives members access to exclusive limited releases. RLC cars are some of the most sought-after modern Hot Wheels. See our RLC guide.
Super Treasure Hunts
Not a premium line, but the chase cars of the mainline: Spectraflame paint, Real Riders tires and a TH logo, randomly inserted in mainline cases. They're the hunter's grail at retail prices. Our Treasure Hunt guide covers how to spot them.

Buying tips
- Check sold listings before paying over retail on the secondary market.
- Inspect card backs and blisters if you collect carded; damage hurts value.
- Protect carded premiums in clamshell protector cases.
