Bowman 1st

Prospecting is my favorite corner of the baseball card hobby. A player’s 1st Bowman card is usually his first certified card, often years before his rookie card, and the 1st Bowman Chrome autograph is the card most collectors chase. These guides cover what the logo means, which version to buy, how I buy them on eBay without overpaying, and the prospects I’m keeping an eye on.

Prospect cards are risky. Most prospects never become stars, so buy players you enjoy following and never more than you’re comfortable losing.
