How to Legit-Check Adidas Sambas and Yeezys

Sambas are among the most-copied sneakers right now, and Yeezys have been faked for years. Most checks come down to labels that don't agree with each other, plus sloppy construction.

1. Match the size tag to the box

The tag inside the shoe lists a style code, size, colorway and country. All of these should exactly match the box label. Search the style code to confirm the model and colorway. Remember that a matching code only proves the code is right for that colorway, because counterfeiters copy codes too.

2. Left vs. right tags

Adidas size tags carry production or serial-style codes. Guides note the codes on the left and right shoes shouldn't be identical, and two identical tags are a common fake sign.

3. Print quality

Real tags have sharp, evenly spaced text. Bold, smudged, misaligned or touching characters are red flags.

Yeezy-specific label tip

For the Yeezy Boost 350 V2, legit-check guides report that US labels show three sizes and end in codes like V02/V03, while international labels show six sizes and end in V10. A label that mixes these formats is suspicious.

4. Construction

Buying safely

Request photos of both size tags, the box label, the insoles, the soles and close-ups of the stitching. When in doubt, use an authenticated marketplace or a professional service.
