Pokémon 30th Celebration Set Guide: Pikachu Rares, Classic Collection and Products

Pokémon turned 30 in 2026, and the TCG marked it with a special expansion, 30th Celebration. The Pokémon Company lists the release date as September 16, 2026, with more than 150 cards and a Standard-legal card pool. It's one of the most-opened sets of the year, so here's how it works and what to look for.
What makes this set different
- A Pikachu in every pack. According to Pokémon, every 30th Celebration booster pack contains a Pikachu rare, and there are 30 different Pikachu illustrations to collect.
- All-foil packs. Pokémon's product showcase says each booster pack includes five foil cards (one of them the Pikachu) and a foil Basic Energy.
- The Classic Collection. Nostalgic reprints of cards from earlier eras. Some premium products include a special pack with three Classic Collection cards.
- Big-name Pokémon ex: Mewtwo ex and Mew ex lead the set, alongside Umbreon ex, Salamence ex and Greninja ex.
Collecting the 30 Pikachu
Completing the 30-card Pikachu set is the natural goal here. Since every pack has one, you'll quickly end up with duplicates. Trading, or buying the last few as singles, is cheaper than ripping packs until you finish. Keep a checklist, sleeve each Pikachu as you pull it, and store duplicates in toploaders for trading.

Buying tips
- Compare by price per pack. Promos and accessories are nice, but if you're after the Pikachu and the hits, divide the price by the number of packs. Our sealed product guide walks through the math.
