Part of my Delta Reign coverage: release date & where to buy · chase cards · launch-day checklist · what the hits are worth · all Pokémon guides.

Delta Reign hits shelves on November 6, 2026, and it's the kind of launch where people overpay in a panic and regret it a week later. I've been through enough of these to have a routine, so here it is as a checklist. Print it, screenshot it, whatever works. If you want the full product rundown first, my release date and where-to-buy guide covers what's in each box.

1. Know the MSRP before you shop

This is the single most useful thing you can do. If you know what a box is supposed to cost, nobody can talk you into double. These are the US list prices The Lab TCG reports from distributor lists, next to what presale copies were going for on TCGplayer in their November 1 snapshot (that's the evening of October 31 here on the West Coast). Presale prices move every day, so treat that column as a snapshot, not a quote.

ProductPacksMSRPTCGplayer presale, Nov 1
Booster Box36$161.64$228.68 (1.4x)
Elite Trainer Box (Kyogre promo)9$49.99$105.80 (2.1x)
Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box11$59.99$294.98 (4.9x)
Booster Bundle6$26.94$48.99 (1.8x)
Build & Battle Box4$21.99$50.30 (2.3x)
3-Pack Blister (Seel promo)3$13.99$33.24 (2.4x)
Single booster pack1$4.49$9.38 (2.1x)

Two things jump out to me. The Pokémon Center ETB is the worst deal on the secondary market by far, and the booster box is the cheapest way into packs if you're paying over MSRP anyway. The Lab TCG also tracked how these presale prices have been sliding: the regular ETB first listed at $199.85 on August 22 and was down to $130.18 by October 9. That trend is the main reason I'm not paying presale prices.

2. Where I'd look first on Nov 6

3. Preorder scams: what to watch for

Every hot Pokémon launch brings a wave of fake preorders. Bitdefender reports at least 477 Pokémon card scam cases reported in Singapore since October 2025, with losses of at least $958,000, and Singapore police have made arrests over preorder fraud. The playbook is the same everywhere, so here's my red-flag list:

For single cards, ask for a photo with your username and today's date next to the card. If the seller refuses, walk away. My guide on spotting fake Pokémon cards covers the cards themselves.

4. What I'd skip

5. Storing what you pull

Have this ready before you open anything. The worst feeling is pulling a big card and having nothing to put it in.

  1. Penny sleeve first, straight out of the pack. Handle by the edges. Penny sleeves
  2. Top loader or magnetic holder for anything worth more than a few dollars. Top loaders · Magnetic holders
  3. Side-loading binder for the set. Look for acid-free, PVC-free pages. Zip binders
  4. Keep sealed boxes sealed and protected if you're holding them. ETB acrylic cases

Thinking about grading a big pull? Run the numbers on my grading calculator first, and read PSA vs CGC for Pokémon. More on product types: ETB vs booster box vs bundle.
